14 WEEKS Vs 18 WEEKS

Which is more suitable? 14 weeks or 18 weeks study period? Many university and institution nowadays prefer to follow IPTA’s academic system which take 14 weeks time. For private institutions like us, 14 weeks studying time is not very suitable.

The main reason is because, UniKL is hands-on teaching university and is not just based on theoretical but in practical also. So we need more time to complete our syllabus. In IPTA, the students are only expert in theory while in practical part, they just have a demonstration by their technician. This is why they can complete their syllabus during 14 weeks time. We admit that most IPTA are well established and popular with their achievement but UniKL also have it's own quality that make us as success as IPTA.

We need to take this issue more seriously in order to maintain our quality as one of the institution that have productive engineers and technologist wannabe. We must have our own identity same as our tagline “Where Knowledge Is Applied”. So we need to prove that the knowledge and skills that was learned can be applied to the industry later on by UniKL engineers and technologist. That is why we need 18 weeks academic calendar in order to have enough time to complete our labs, tests, quizzes and assignments. Then only we can scores well and get better CGPA for every semester.
